Description

Breaking down a project into an understandable Scope of Work is critical. However, many freelancers and agency owners don't take it far enough. In this session project management pro Beth Livingston will guide us through how to break the Scope of Work (or website specification) into smaller chunks (deliverables) that are easier for the client to digest, streamline the approval process, and increase the likelihood there are no forgotten or misunderstood requirements before development begins.

Meet Beth Livingston

Beth built her first WordPress website in 2009 for a side business, was immediately smitten, and soon began building websites for other small businesses. In 2016, after a 25+ year history as an IT Business Analyst, Instructional Designer, and Project Manager, Beth left the corporate world to become a full time WordPress Coach and Designer, and now enjoys providing real-life project management skills training for WordPress practitioners (designers, developers, consultants, project managers, and agencies) through her company, WP Roadmaps and Coaching. Beth is the creator of The WP Project Manager's Academy, administers the WordPress Project Management Facebook group, and serves as an organizer for the North Carolina Triad WordPress Meetup Group. Beth enjoys teaching and has presented talks at various WordCamps across the country, at Venture Cafe Winston-Salem, the Triad WordPress Meetup, and has taught project management classes at Guilford Technical Community College's Small Business Center in Greensboro NC.

Beth Livingston

Beth built her first WordPress website in 2009 for a side business, was immediately smitten, and soon began building websites for other small businesses. In 2016, after a long history as an IT Business Analyst, Instructional Designer, and Project Manager, she left the corporate world to form her WordPress agency (WP Roadmaps). Soon after, while attending WordCamps and seeing how folks were struggling with project management, she decided to share her knowledge to help others by forming the WP Project Manager’s Academy.

In addition to continuing to run her agency and serving as the Academy Director, Beth also administers the WordPress Project Management Facebook group and serves as an event organizer for the Triad WordPress Meetup Group.

In her spare time, what there is of it, Beth also enjoys visiting live music venues, occasionally acting and singing in local theater productions.
